Hill House Crafts, came into existence in 2017, when we moved to McHenry KY and our house was on a hill.
I have been sewing and crafting most of my life. As a child I grew up on a farm, my parents worked hard and there wasn’t a lot of time for Mom to sew. She had bought me a pattern and material to make a skirt, but hadn’t had time to cut and sew it. I figured it out and that started my craft journey.
In 1990 while on bedrest pregnant with twins, I got bored doing the typical things, so I taught myself to crochet. Those first items were laughable! I laid it down after my girls were born and picked it back up in 2006. The whole Internet thing made things so much easier, video tutorials, access to so many patterns, etc.
I kept up with my sewing through the years, mostly for my daughters. Special occasion dresses, costumes, quilts, and even formals when they got older.
In 2015, I ventured into the world of tumblers and vinyl/htv The cutting machines opened up a whole new world of craftiness! Now it seems that I never get bored and I can let my creativity run freely!
